Booking

1. How do I book a car on Gangasagar Car Booking?

Simply visit our Book a Car page, select your route (Kachuberia, Benuban, or Mayagoalini Ghat to Gangasagar), choose your preferred car type, pick your travel date, enter your details, verify your phone with OTP, and complete the payment. You will receive a booking confirmation via SMS and email.

2. Do I need to create an account to book?

No account registration is needed. We use OTP (One-Time Password) verification on your mobile number to verify your identity and manage your bookings. Simply enter your phone number and verify with the OTP sent to you.

3. Can I book a round trip?

Yes, we offer both one-way and round-trip bookings. When booking, simply select “Round Trip” as your trip type and specify your return date and time. Round-trip bookings may have discounted pricing compared to two separate one-way trips.

4. How far in advance should I book?

We recommend booking at least 1-2 days in advance, especially during peak season (Gangasagar Mela in January) when demand is very high. However, you can book on the same day subject to vehicle availability.

5. Can I book for someone else?

Yes. You can enter the passenger’s details during booking. However, the phone number used for OTP verification will be linked to the booking for communication purposes.

Payment

6. What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major payment methods through Razorpay, including:

  • UPI (Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM, etc.)
  • Credit and Debit Cards (Visa, Mastercard, Rupay)
  • Net Banking (all major banks)
  • Mobile Wallets

7. Can I pay a partial amount and pay the rest later?

Yes! We offer a partial payment option. You can pay a minimum advance amount (set by us for each route and car type) to confirm your booking, and pay the remaining balance later — either online or at the time of your trip. The minimum advance amount varies by car type and route.

8. Is my payment secure?

Absolutely. All payments are processed through Razorpay, one of India’s leading payment gateways, which uses bank-level encryption and is PCI-DSS compliant. We never store your card or banking details on our servers.

9. Can I get an invoice for my booking?

Yes. After your booking is confirmed, you can download a PDF invoice from the booking confirmation page or from the My Bookings section. The invoice includes all trip and payment details.

Cancellation and Refunds

10. Can I cancel my booking?

Yes, you can request a cancellation by contacting us via phone or WhatsApp. Cancellations are processed by our admin team. Please refer to our Refund and Cancellation Policy for full details on cancellation terms and refund timelines.

11. How long does a refund take?

Refunds are processed within 5-7 business days after the cancellation is approved. The amount will be credited back to the original payment method used during booking.

Routes and Cars

12. What routes do you serve?

We currently operate on three routes, all heading to Gangasagar:

  • Kachuberia → Gangasagar (approximately 30 km, 1 hour)
  • Benuban → Gangasagar (approximately 15 km, 30 minutes)
  • Mayagoalini Ghat → Gangasagar (approximately 20 km, 45 minutes)

13. What types of cars are available?

We offer a variety of vehicles to suit different group sizes and budgets, including Sedans (4-seater), SUVs (6-7 seater), Toyota Innova, Tempo Travellers (12-15 seater), and more. Both AC and Non-AC options are available. You can browse all available car types on our Cars page.

14. Will I know my driver’s details before the trip?

Yes. Once your booking is confirmed by our team, you will receive the driver’s name, phone number, and vehicle registration number via SMS and email. You can also view these details on the Track Booking page.

Travel and Safety

15. Is there a luggage limit?

Standard luggage (1-2 bags per person) is included. For excess or oversized luggage, please mention it in the “Special Requests” section during booking, or contact us in advance so we can arrange a suitable vehicle.

16. Can children travel? Is there an extra charge?

Children are welcome and there is no extra charge for children. However, they are counted towards the total passenger capacity of the vehicle. Please ensure you select a car type that accommodates your entire group including children.

17. What happens if my ferry is delayed?

If your ferry is delayed, please inform us or your assigned driver as soon as possible. Our drivers are generally flexible and will wait for a reasonable period. For significant delays, contact us and we will make alternative arrangements.

18. Do prices change during Gangasagar Mela?

Yes, during peak seasons like Gangasagar Mela (mid-January), demand for vehicles increases significantly. Our pricing may include a seasonal adjustment during such periods. The exact fare is always shown to you before you confirm your booking — there are no hidden charges.
